That month will mark the 66th anniversary of operation Husky,
the invasion of Sicily.
The paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne Division had a hard fight for Biazzo Ridge.
[and of course the fight for other targets like:
Niscemi -
Objective X,
the roadcrossing
Objective Y,
Vittoria,
Santa Croce Camerina , and all other places in the area].

My dad was there, Capt Robert D Lipton. He flew a C-47, was shot at my the allied navy, was hit by german flak. he was awarded his 2nd air medal.
